My sister and I had our dinner at Cumberland Brews early on a Friday evening. We opted to sit inside and in the narrow downstairs area. After we were seated all of the tables were filled and it felt busy but never chaotic.

Located in the “Irish” district of Baxter Ave., this is probably the first of the Irish pubs in the neighborhood (50 years!), and frankly one of the best fish sandwiches this side of Dublin (and it’s cellar).

Typically, I really love this place. I don’t know if we just came on a bad day or what. Maybe it’s the recent remodeling that made them forget how to make great garlic fries. Who knows.
