Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen

Sweet teeth (tooths??) are a hard thing to control. Jam’s is almost uncontrollable, and mine tends to follow suit. The Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen has always been a weakness of mine, for good reason. I’ve never left there thinking, “That was the worst pie/ice cream/cake/cookie ever.” But really, are there any bad desserts out there?

Molly Malone’s Irish Pub and Restaurant – Irish Week!

Nothing’s better than dining alfresco in the early Spring, especially while enjoying a nice beverage in the all-too-familiar Irish setting on Baxter Avenue. Jam, his wife and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and put their fish sandwich to the test. Read along if you will… [...]

Tony Boombozz Pizzeria – Italian Week!

This place has won so many awards, that I probably don’t even have to tell you how good it is. But I will: It’s good.

Harry and I stopped in for lunch last week because I remembered how cheap their personal pizzas are ($2.99 for cheese, toppings are additional.) They also have great Panino Sandwiches that aren’t as inexpensive, but worth every cent.

Sitar Indian Restaurant

This place has generated quite a bit of Highlands buzz. Is Bardstown Road ready for another Indian place? And one with a daily buffet, unlike Kashmir’s weekend-only all-you-can-eat dining (UPDATE: Kashmir now has a daily buffet)? Exciting! But will it take over the long-standing rein of one of Sammy’s favorite Bardstown Road eateries? Read on…

Dublin’s Cellar (Formerly Willy’s)

The LouisvilleLunch crew used to visit Willy’s semi-regularly. I guess not as regularly than I thought, because last week when we rolled up, we noticed a name change. When we asked the waitress, she said the changeover happened a few months ago. Wow. Way to keep up on the restaurant scene, Sammy! [...]

Spinelli’s Pizzeria

I’ve always really liked Spinelli’s and our last visit was no exception. This place has got (almost) everything I like in a restaurant: a)Good Food b)Good Atmosphere c)Good Service…well, 2 out of 3, as they say, ain’t bad.

Bristol Bar and Grille

What hasn’t been said about this Louisville landmark? You know it, you love it (or maybe you hate it, I dunno). Even with the stink that came out a couple of months ago, the Highlands location was packed full Friday afternoon as my office-mates and veggie friend (who probably needs an alias now as well…we’ll call him Harry) paid our old stand-by another visit. [...]

Kashmir Indian Restaurant

Being kinda picky, I was always kind of afraid of Indian food. That is, until I found the Chicken Tikka Masala at Kashmir. Food of the gods, I tell ya. Add a side of Poori, and you’re all set. [...]
