Crave Café

Hit & Miss

After a battle of cabin fever from the snow, we were all excited to have a beautiful sunny day to explore a new lunch spot. After some discussion we decided to try Crave Café at 2250 Frankfort Avenue. We had high expectations for this small, but inviting café. I had The Guido, a grilled chicken & pesto sandwich on a ciabatta bread, a cup of chicken artichoke soup and a side of bleu cheese slaw. The sandwich was average, while the soup seemed to be lacking. El Nopalito

If you remember from my El Mundo review, I really enjoy Mexican food. Now I’m not sure how “authentic” these types of restaurants are – you know the ones with approximately the same menu – but man, they have some Good Eats, as my man Alton Brown would say.

I think at least one of my parents must secretly be from Mexico. I would eat this food every day of the week if I could. I mostly love that there are like 5-10 ingredients, but hundreds, nay, thousands of scrumptious possibilities.

So, being such a Mexican food junkie, I know you’ll be surprised to know that I have never been to El Mundo before Jam and I headed out the other day. It’s like, a sin or something, right? This is THE hipster spot for gettin’ yo’ burrito and margarita on, right? Well, let ’em have it…I’ll be at El Caporal. […]

Frankfort Ave. Beer Depot (FABD Smokehouse)

FABD ParkingThere are quite a few things I’m passionate about in this mortal coil, and here are but three: Barbecue, Beer and Ping-Pong (yep, I call it ping-pong, I’m not one of those ‘Table Tennis” purists). So, if you’re expecting a bad review of FABD, you’ve come to the wrong food blog, my friend. […]
